Skin Cancer Clinic

Dr Esther Rasser is trained in the early detection and treatment of all types of skin cancers.  A skin check takes 15-30 minutes, depending on your skin type and the number of moles and spots to be looked at.  If you require treatment of your mole or spot, most cases can be dealt with at the surgery including skin flap and graft surgery.

Chronic Disease Clinics

If you suffer from a chronic illness your illness can be better managed with a comprehensive, structured GP management plan.

Your GP management plan will be specifically tailored to your health needs and will:

  • List the actions you can take to help manage your condition
  • Set goals for your treatment
  • Set out the services to be provided by your GP
  • Be regularly reviewed, ensuring the plan changes along with your needs

As part of your plan referrals can be made to allied health professionals e.g. Dieticians, physiotherapists, podiatrists etc. With these referrals in place, Medicare will give rebates for the services.

Chronic Disease Clinics requires a 45-minute appointment with our Practice Nurse and a standard appointment with your regular doctor.

Health Assessment

As we get older, many of us become more vulnerable to illness. The federal government has recognised this and has introduced an annual health check for everyone over the age of 75years.

The aim of the health check is to help find, prevent or lessen the effect of disease and identify any areas where assistance may be required to improve your lifestyle.

It is preferred that the health check be performed in your home with one of our nurses. Alternatively, it can be done in the surgery.

If you would like a 75+ years Health Assessment please contact reception.

Home Medicine Reviews

If you are on multiple medications your GP may organise for your Pharmacist to visit you at home to review all your medications including over the counter medications and aids used (e.g. puffers and spacers). They will provide you with a copy of a proposed plan of action.

45-49 Health check

The federal government has introduced a new health check for everyone aged between 45 and 49 who may be at risk of developing a health complaint, like diabetes or heart problems.

The aim of the health check is to help find, prevent or lessen the effect of the disease – it is better to avoid disease than to treat it. This health check will give us the opportunity to look at your lifestyle and medical/family history to find out if you are at risk.
Available upon request.

Most doctors are happy to perform cryotherapy to assist the removal of warts and lesions. This can be done in a standard appointment.

Removal of Lesions

Doctors remove skin lesions in the practice. Make a standard appointment for a doctor to perform a skin check, the doctor will then arrange appointments for any required procedures.

Doctors may perform punch biopsies on skin lesions so a small sample can be sent to pathology for testing. Once Doctors receive your result they can then recommend the required treatment for your skin lesion.
